The Distilleries of Kentucky series

The following selection of albums come from two seperate photoshoots exploring the historic distilleries of the limestone region south of Louisville. The first opportunity took place in April, 2001 with visits to Wild Turkey and Buffalo Trace (Ancient Age) and Heaven Hill. Later, in November, 2004, the distillery project was picked up again with Woodford Reserve and Makers Mark. Once more, the idea was to look for compositions for paintings of this iconic Kentucky institution: the creation of bourbon. We're happy to note that a few have made it to the to-paint list. Although, as exciting as they might be, whether one makes it to the framer or not, remains to be seen one could say. On a technical note, these images have been scanned for this site from 35mm color negatives. Our Pentax was used for this project.
